ARCHITECTURE WITH PURPOSE: FUNCTIONALITY, ACCESSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY FOR ALL.
At Architectural Assistance, we believe that architecture should improve lives—whether it’s by making spaces more functional, accessible, or eco-conscious. Led by Lee, an architectural designer with a passion for problem-solving and collaboration, our mission is to create spaces that serve the people who use them while minimizing environmental impact.

"Growing up in Barrow, I witnessed firsthand how thoughtful design can dramatically affect how people live their daily lives. I'm driven by a commitment to affordability, practicality, and ensuring that every design serves the specific needs of its users. While I appreciate the beauty of expressive architecture, my philosophy is that form follows function—a space can only be truly beautiful when it meets the needs of those who inhabit it".

ACCESSIBLE ARCHITECTURE
"My work is deeply influenced by personal experiences, particularly around accessibility. With a cousin in a wheelchair, I’ve seen the challenges of navigating inaccessible environments. This inspired me to focus on designing homes and spaces that restore dignity and independence to those with mobility challenges. Whether it's adding ramps, widening paths, or creating wheelchair-friendly layouts, my goal is to design spaces that work for everyone".

"I’ve also had the privilege of working on projects like accessibility improvements in schools, where I saw the direct impact that design can have on someone’s life. I’ll never forget the smile on a young student’s face as he zoomed down the ramp we had installed—a simple change that transformed his experience of the school".

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
"While accessibility is at the heart of my practice, I’m also committed to incorporating sustainability into every project. From rainwater collection systems to hedgehog houses and highly insulated structures, I strive to ensure that each project minimizes environmental impact while remaining affordable for clients. I believe that sustainable design isn’t a luxury—it’s a responsibility".

FUTURE VISION
"Looking ahead, my vision is to become the go-to firm for accessible home design in Cumbria and Lancashire, helping architects and homeowners alike create spaces that are both functional and beautiful".
